AI is changing the way real estate professionals work—and realMLS is helping you bring your MLS data into that workflow.
We’re excited to announce that realMLS is now offering access to the Flexmls Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, giving eligible realMLS customers a new way to connect their Flexmls account with compatible AI tools.
With MCP, you can ask questions about realMLS listing data, market activity, and your own listings using natural language, without having to switch back and forth between applications.
What is MCP?
MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that allows AI applications to securely connect with external data sources.
In this case, the Flexmls MCP Server creates a secure connection between your Flexmls account and compatible AI assistants, allowing the AI to retrieve information from your MLS based on your existing Flexmls access and permissions.
Think of it as a way to bring your MLS data into the AI conversation.
What Can You Ask?
Once connected, you can use natural-language questions to work with your MLS data, including:
- Search for listings based on specific criteria
- Explore market statistics such as inventory, days on market, prices, sales volume and absorption rates
- Find information about your listings
- View listing information and photos
- Ask questions about current MLS data without navigating through multiple screens
For example, you might ask:
“Show me active listings under $500,000 with three bedrooms in [area].”
Or:
“What is the current inventory and median price for [area]?”
The AI assistant uses your authorized Flexmls connection to retrieve the relevant MLS data and provide a response.
Your MLS Permissions Still Apply
Security and data access remain at the center of the experience.
The MCP Server uses your existing Flexmls credentials and permissions. You won’t gain access to information you couldn’t already access in Flexmls. Contact and account identity data are also structurally inaccessible through the MCP Server, and the MCP Server does not store or cache Flexmls data.
This means your MLS data remains governed by the access and permissions established within Flexmls.
Getting Started
If you’re ready to explore MCP, getting started begins inside Flexmls:
- Log in to Flexmls.
- Go to Preferences > AI Settings.
- Select the option to enable the MCP Server.
- Review and accept the Terms of Use.
- Follow the instructions provided to connect your compatible AI application.
The Flexmls Setup Guide → provides the information you’ll need to complete the connection.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
MCP gives AI tools access to live Flexmls data, but the AI application is still responsible for interpreting and presenting that information. AI-generated responses can contain errors or misunderstandings.
Always verify listing details, market statistics, and other important information directly in Flexmls before using AI-generated information in client-facing materials or making business decisions.
