Multi Factor Authentication in Flexmls

Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds a second layer of security to your login credentials—similar to the verification code you receive when accessing your bank account. It helps ensure only you can access your MLS account, keeping your information, your customer’s information, and your inventory safe.

For instructions on setting up Multi-Factor Authentication please visit our blog https://www.realmls.com/mfa/

MFA Options

  • It is highly recommended to use an authenticator app on your mobile device.

This is the recommended way to secure your sign-ins.It is an app that is on your personal device and cannot be intercepted and has the benefit of working offline.  This feature will provide  your access code regardless of having cell service. Examples include Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or any other app of your choice.

  • You may also opt to receive your MFA via Text Messages to your phone.

If you are using text message to receive your code, you MUST use the primary phone number in your Flexmls profile. You will not be able to use a secondary phone number for authentication purposes. The phone number this text  will come from is (701) 205-0681.

  • You can ask the system to call your cell phone to receive your MFA code.

The same stipulations for the phone call option applies as if you were receiving a text.  It must be the primary phone number in your Flexmls profile. The phone number this phone call will come from is (701) 205-0681.

Troubleshooting

If you are using phone call or text message authentication and are not receiving your code

  1. Check your device’s Blocked Numbers list to ensure you did not mistakenly block the authenticator phone number (701) 205-0681. You may need to check with your phone provider on how to unblock the number since each service and/or phone could be different.
  2. iPhone devices on iOS 26 or higher have a Filter Spam setting on by default. The text message may have unintentionally been sorted in this folder.

To view and recover spam messages on your iPhone:

  1. In Messages, tap the Filters button.
  2. Tap Spam.
  3. Tap the message you want to review.
  4. Tap Move to Inbox or Move to Inbox and Report Not Spam.
